Hello :3

Hi my name is Adam Stone I’m a musician/student/avid music fan living in NYC. Ever since I was little I have been enamored with music whether it was something my friends were listening to at school or the tapes/CDs my parents would watch play in the car.

So I bet you’re wondering why I started this or asked you to read this. I love talking about music. Old music, new music, local music, foreign music it’s all beautiful, and instead of boring my friends with my newest fixation maybe some of you guys will be interested.

So today I’ve been feeling nostalgic:

One of my earliest memories of music was being sat in the car seat and listening to my mother put on Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and making her skip the first song “Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” because there was one instrument in the very long intro that sounded how I would like to describe teeth chattering. Now as I’m approaching 22 it’s one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists and one I consistently go back to when I feel nostalgic.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to those moments and not make my mother skip that song. It also reminds me of my first concert.  When I was about 9 my Grandfather had some connections and got my mother 2 floor seats at MSG. I was a very annoying kid and even though I should’ve been happy to be out way past my bedtime we ended up leaving at one of my mom's favorite songs, “Levon” it was. The roar of the first few words and watching my mom sing along then me shyly asking if we could leave because I was tired and it was loud. I was always sensitive to loud noises. I always had earplugs at movie theaters and events.

To this day I still apologize for that night and we still laugh. My mom has since seen him twice without me afterward luckily.
